Like many Gen X Australians, I'm working towards retirement and looking forward to the day when I can finally take that deep breath and confidently move into the next phase of my life.

Retirement is something most of us look forward to, yet planning for it can feel overwhelming. Questions about superannuation, retirement income, pensions, estate planning, and simply wondering whether we've saved enough can leave many of us feeling uncertain about the future.

As I've begun planning my own retirement journey, I realised that practical, straightforward information isn't always easy to find. Much of what's available can feel overly complicated, full of financial jargon, or focused on selling products rather than helping people make informed decisions.

That's why I decided to build the GenX Retirement Toolbox.

My goal is simple: to provide practical tools, calculators, workbooks, and information that can help ordinary Australians navigate the retirement journey with greater confidence and less stress.

The reality is that we all need to spend a little time planning our retirement so that we can spend much more time enjoying it.

For some, that may mean packing up the caravan and doing the big lap around this great southern land. For others, it may be travelling overseas, spending more time with family and grandchildren, pursuing long-forgotten hobbies, or simply sitting on the porch with a cup of tea and Vegemite on toast.

Whatever retirement looks like for you, you've worked hard to get there.
